it is finally fall! although the weather itself wouldn’t say so. because why is it still so damn hot during the day? (〒﹏〒) at least evenings and nights are now breathable... which is good for a night owl like myself. despite the daytime heat, it’s fall nonetheless! and do you know what fall means? it is time for this website’s first autumn cleaning! of course, this is not a physical cleaning but just getting some things sorted!

first of all, i stopped being stubborn... i have added some accessibility features! the website is finally mobile responsible! also navigation with keyboard-only should be easier. “vibes over everything”, the mindset i had isn’t really the best way to be. you can still make a website pretty-looking, without making it too hard for other people. this is another area where i was in the wrong...

of course, no one can really tell me what to do or not to do with my website. but some things simply should not be ignored. “oh nooo this website won’t work on your phone and i don’t care”. do you see how pretentious that sounds? gosh what was wrong with me?

also, the design has had a ton of changes made to it again. although the website just has gotten its neumorphic design quite recently, i have decided to re-do it again. and make it more playful instead. i think this is much better!

but i don’t claim perfect accessibility! it will probably still break screen-readers because i sometimes, in some posts, i use emoticons like those (。•̀ᴗ-)✧ ! also, i don’t think my color choices fully, if at all comply with those contrast guidelines. i do not plan to fix this specifically. i like the colors i’ve picked, sorry.

there are also some frontend fixes. instead of some frankenstein of html4 and html5, it is now fully html5. as well as more modern css. i really thought retro-compatibility is both cool and important. but the thing is, that was just hindering my website. whilst yes i got it to run under firefox 4.0, what is the point? who is going to visit on a browser that old? pretty much no one. alongside the website being an actual html5, also an actual semantic html is being used. so it should be easier to navigate!

in august, i’ve already dropped support for tls 1.0, and outdated chipters. now, i am dropping the http fallback at all. as much as i miss the old internet, i shouldn’t larp the old internet. times have changed.

those changes however, don’t change my core principles. i still think most modern websites do look like glorified tablet apps. and you’ll never get that from me. my website will always look colorful and fun. this means, the “pinkmode” is still the only thing you’ll get. here will never be dark mode, and here will never be light mode. because pink is the best. fight me on this. to make sure everything loads correctly clear your local cache or do a hard refresh! (ctrl+f5)

and another change is... again... the name and the domain! how many times have i said i’ll stop? god knows! but i simply have too many domains and i am unsure of what to do with them. starting today, and for the time being riri.my will be redirecting to leashme.today. the leashme.today will be the main domain name. also the new website name is leashbound. even though i also has a rename recently [where i changed it because it collided with a band]

that’s all! here’s one for a nice fall! i hope you like the changes!
